UNITE TO REACH OUT TO THE NON-PRIVILEGED IN AFRICA
ABOUT US
Reach Africa Foundation was established in 2002 to support and empower Africans living in Africa and the Netherlands. It is a non-profit, non-racial, non-discriminative organization with a strong community network, and focuses on engaging in Africa and amongst the African Diaspora in the Netherlands.
The organization was born out of the need to support and empower poor and disadvantaged Africans living in the Netherlands and has extended to provide support in rural and urban areas of Africa, mainly through economic enfranchisement and education.
We have made concerted efforts to reach out to the 200.000 Africans living in the Netherlands. Through a participatory approach, we have also established working relationships with a number of community- based associations from Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Erithrea, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Congo, and Burundi.
In the Netherlands, we are working to create partnerships with donor agencies and government institutions to raise financial and material resources to support projects that aim to improve the lives of under-educated, marginalized and disadvantaged migrants in the Netherlands.
In Africa, we are focusing on projects that will enable the less-privileged to improve their living conditions and become self-reliant. We are cooperating with local communities in order to understand and assess their needs and support them in their efforts to raise the standards of living in their region.
After more than 10 years of operation, focusing on organizing and sensitisizing diaspora groups and communities, Reach Africa Foundation intends to build on its strengths and help assemble a loosely-federated collaboration of African associations and organizations by the end of 2015. We feel that, by working together, we can become greater than the sum of our parts.
